About the teachers

 

Sara Woster

Sara Woster is a painter, illustrator, animator, writer and painting teacher who has exhibited her work around the world. She has also illustrated several children's book and illustrates for various publications. In 2018 she was granted a Su-CASA fellowship from the Brooklyn Art Council, NYC Dept. of Aging, and the NYC Dept. of Cultural Affairs to teaching painting to seniors. Julia Silver Gordon

Julia is a Brooklyn-based artist with a passion for igniting the creative spirit. After studying art at the University of Colorado Boulder, she founded Hiho Batik, a lifestyle brand with hands-on studios in Miami and New York. For 20 years, she taught children and adults to design with pencil, wax and color through onsite classes. She also led workshops at Brooklyn Brainery and Textile Art Center. Julia’s work has been featured on NBC’s TODAY, the Martha Stewart Show and in magazines like WWD. She is currently studying at The New York Academy of Art and Clayworks on Columbia.
