This 8-week class is for those of you who taken a few of our workshops or our Basics/Beginner class series. Or, anybody who painted in the past and would like to return to making art.

Each week of this will focus on a different artist and painting skill with the goal of elevating your painting and experimenting with palettes inspired by artists and movements. Each class will begin with a 15-minute color mixing/color theory exercise before we work on a painting built around the focus of that week. We will look at a wide range of artists, from Munch to Matisse, Jennifer Packer to Anthony Cudahy.

As with all of our classes at The Painting School, we will use art history and contemporary art to understand what we are exploring and what we mean when we say a painting is good. And we will totally change the way you experience a day in the museum in the future!

Level of Experience: This is a great class for people with limited or intermediate painting experience. We will build on whatever level of experience or expertise you have.

When: Monday nights, 7:00 - 9:00

Cost:

$400 - If you supply your own paint and canvas/paper

$475 - If we supply all paints and canvas/paper
